The MBSLA and S.A.F.E.T.Y.TM self-assessment profiles together provide a comprehensive map of your brain.  The MBSLA gives an objective, neuropsychological readout of your brain capacities, and where your strengths and weaknesses exist in terms of brain output. The S.A.F.E.T.Y.TM self-assessment gives you insights into how important each of the social motivating triggers are for you in the quest for psychological safety.  Revealing both your brain capacities and your triggers, will give you the best chance of truly understanding the “what”, “so what” and “now what”:

  • WHAT: are my strengths/weaknesses that drive my behavior
  • SO WHAT: does this mean for the way in which I treat others
    and how they see me
  • NOW WHAT: can I do about optimizing my decision making/

A good analogy is that of a computer system.  The underlying hardware within the system is what dictates the performance of the computer….how fast is the processor, how much storage does the hard drive have etc.  The software is what allows you to actually translate the hardware to something useful, like playing music, video conferencing or printing a beautiful picture.

In the same way, your brain capacities from the MBSLA are somewhat akin to the hardware of a computer, they are wired-in based on nature and nurture – the engine that drives your performance .  The S.A.F.E.T.Y.TM triggers, on the other hand, serve as the software within this system, they dictate the behavior seen by the outside world.   These triggers are created mainly though experience and emotions, and can be subject to changes or “upgrades” more easily than the brain capacities, based upon the specific situation.
